How Guardia Boxing picks topics, which sources it trusts, who reads a page before it goes live, how mistakes get fixed, and where affiliate money stops.

How we choose what to write

A page exists because a real question exists: one we had ourselves when buying gear, or one readers keep searching for. Each page answers one question. You won’t find three near-identical articles on the same gloves with the keyword moved around; when a question is already answered, we update the existing page instead of writing a new one.

Some topics we cover without recommending anything. Stun guns, brass knuckles and similar items show up in searches constantly. We explain what the law says about them, and we don’t link to products that are illegal to carry in the country the page is written for.

Sources

  • Products. Manufacturer specifications, checked against the product in our hands. When the two disagree, we say so.
  • Law. Primary sources only. For the French edition, the texts on Légifrance; for the US edition, state statutes and official government pages. Never a summary from another blog. Each legal statement carries the date it was last checked.
  • Sizing. Manufacturer charts, plus our own measurements when the chart is vague.
  • Health and injuries. We don’t play doctor. When a topic touches injuries, we point to a professional.

AI and human review

Software can help draft an outline or tidy a sentence. It doesn’t test gloves and it doesn’t read the law. No factual claim on this site comes from a language model, and nothing is published until a human who used the product has read every line. On self-defense pages, a second person, named on the page, reads it again before publication — see who writes Guardia Boxing.

Two languages, written twice

The English and French editions are written separately, not translated. Products differ between amazon.com and amazon.fr, sizes are labeled differently, and the law has nothing in common. Self-defense pages deliberately have no counterpart in the other language.

Before a page goes live

  • Every fact can be traced to a source or to a test.
  • Every product statement comes from handling the product; untested items are labeled.
  • Every affiliate link is announced above it, not below.
  • The author and the update date are visible.
  • Self-defense pages: published only after review by a named, verifiable reviewer who signs the page (see Who writes this). Until one is appointed, those pages stay offline.

Corrections

We make mistakes. If you find one, tell us. We fix the text, change the “Updated” date, and when the correction changes a verdict, we add a note at the bottom of the page saying what changed and why. We don’t rewrite history silently.

Where the money stops

Products are selected and verdicts written before any affiliate link is added. The commission rate is never a criterion, retailers can’t buy a position, and a product with no affiliate program can still be our top pick. The details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
